Two choices: the Ram or the He-Goat!

Image
Study: Why two and only two? In Daniel 7 there were four animals? Who are these two? Why do I ask who? Look and see! " The ram which thou sawest having two horns are the kings of Media and Persia ." Daniel 8:20 Recall that according to Daniel 2 and Daniel 7 ... ( See  " King is Kingdom .") a beast = a kingdom = a king ...specifically, a king like Nebuchadnezzar, he being the GREATEST king of the Neo-Babylonian Empire. So, what Persian king is fit to be labelled the GREATEST king of the Medo-Persian, Persian or Achaemenid Empire and thus a fit representative of that empire? As Nebuchadnezzar was essentially the founder of Babylon's greatness... what about the founder of the Persian Empire, Cyrus the GREAT ? A Ram = the Persian Empire = Cyrus the Great If you will recall, we quoted some verses naming Cyrus in our first prophecy study. Notice now that Cyrus is mentioned by name by God about 100 years ...

Life of Jezebel

Study: One and only one woman's name is ever mentioned in the book of Revelation : "Notwithstanding I have a few things against thee, because thou sufferest that woman Jezebel , which calleth herself a prophetess, to teach and to seduce my servants to commit fornication, and to eat things sacrificed unto idols." Revelation 2:20 Jezebel! This is the woman of Revelation chapters 12, 13, and 17 , amongst others. How can this be the pure woman of Revelation 12? you may ask. How can parents name their daughters Isabel when it is the same as Jezebel? Because Jezebel means "chaste!"  (Check out the quotes in this blog, defining this name.) The woman of Revelation 12 is Jezebel, "chaste." But the woman changes. She follows the life path of the Old Testament Jezebel. And what is that? Here are the steps. She starts as Jezebel, chaste and unmarried , just as her name means, then... she becomes marrie...

King is Kingdom

Study: In the Hebrew mindset, a king is equivalent to a kingdom. How do we know this? Both Daniel 2 and Daniel 7 make this clear. First Daniel 7 ! "These great beasts , which are four, are four kings , which shall arise out of the earth." Daniel 7:17 "Thus he said, The fourth beast shall be the fourth kingdom upon earth,..." Daniel 7:23 From these two verses we can see that, king = beast = kingdom Now  Daniel 2 ! "Thou, O king , art a king of kings: for the God of heaven hath given thee a kingdom, power, and strength, and glory. ... Thou art this head of gold. And after thee shall arise another kingdom ..." Daniel 2:37-39 This verse needs a little more explaining. If Nebuchadnezzar the king is the head of gold and after him comes another kingdom, symbolized by the breasts and arms of silver, yet he was succeeded by two more Babylonian kings, then it must be that he symbolizes his kingdom also. It is...

Sea Beast of Revelation 13:1-10

Study: "And I stood upon the sand of the sea, and saw a beast rise up out of the sea , having seven heads and ten horns , and upon his horns ten crowns, and upon his heads the name of blasphemy. And the beast which I saw was like unto a leopard , and his feet were as the feet of a bear , and his mouth as the mouth of a lion :..." Revelation 13:1,2 Why "a beast rise up out of the sea," "ten horns," "a leopard," "a bear," and "a lion"?  How do we understand Revelation 13? And four great beasts came up from the sea , diverse one from another. The first was like a lion , and had eagle’s wings: I beheld till the wings thereof were plucked, and it was lifted up from the earth, and made stand upon the feet as a man, and a man’s heart was given to it. And behold another beast, a second, like to a bear , and it raised up itself on one side, and it had three ribs in the mouth of it between the t...

Study:  "Thou, O king, sawest, and behold a great image. This great image, whose brightness was excellent, stood before thee; and the form thereof was terrible. This image’s head was of ( 1 ) fine gold , his breast and his arms of ( 2 )  silver , his belly and his thighs of ( 3 ) brass , His legs of ( 4 ) iron , his feet part of iron  and part of..." Daniel 2:31-33 "This is the dream; and we will tell the interpretation thereof before the king. Thou, O king, art a king of kings: for the God of heaven hath given thee ( 1 )  a kingdom , power, and strength, and glory. And wheresoever the children of men dwell, the beasts of the field and the fowls of the heaven hath he given into thine hand, and hath made thee ruler over them all. Thou art this head of gold . And after thee shall arise ( 2 )  another kingdom inferior to thee, and another third kingdom of brass , which shall bear rule over all the earth. And the fourth ...
