Iniquity of the confessional (Burchard (w5), Chiniquy, The priest, the woman and the confessional, 1875)
Text: "Neither shall he regard the God of his fathers, nor the desire of women..." Daniel 11:37 "Now the Spirit speaketh expressly, that in the latter times some shall depart from the faith, giving heed to seducing spirits, and doctrines of devils; Speaking lies in hypocrisy; having their conscience seared with a hot iron; Forbidding to marry..." 1 Timothy 4:1-3
Quote:
The celebrated Burchard, Bishop of Worms, has made a book of the questions which had to be put by the confessors to their penitents of both sexes. During several centuries it was the standard book of the priests of Rome. [...]
Among the questions we find in the Compendium of the Right Rev. Burchard, Bishop of Worms, which must be put to womem, are the following (p. 115):—
5. "Fecisti quod quædam mulieres facere solent, ut succumberes aliquo jumento et illud jumentum ad coitum qualicumque posses ingenio, ut sic coiret tecum?"
Chiniquy, Charles Paschal Telesphore, The priest, the woman and the confessional, Montreal: F. E. Grafton, bookseller, 1875, p. 183.
