Daniel and Revelation: the statue of Daniel (2 & 3) and the beasts of Revelation (13 & 17)

Study:

Recall the connection between the statue of Daniel 2 and the sea beast of Revelation 13.

Vision of Daniel 2
(body part)

gold head
silver breast & arms
brass waist & thighs
iron legs & feet
ONE Statue:
A conglomeration of Metals
Vision of Daniel 7
(Dan. 2-Rev. 13 bridge equates statue with beast!)
lion
bear
leopard
non-descript
===
Vision of Rev. 13:1-10
(beast part)

lion mouth
bear feet
leopard body
10 horns
ONE Beast:
A conglomeration of Beasts

Note: a person is recognized by their face thus we might very well call both Daniel 2's statue and Revelation 13's sea beast, Babylon!

So notice, that through the vision of Daniel 7, the statue of Daniel 2 is equated to the sea beast of Revelation 13. In Daniel 2, the metals, as body parts, are combined together to make a man while in Revelation 13, the beasts, as body parts, are combined together to make a beast.

Note: we have seen this before... a man equated to a beast! (See "King is Kingdom.")

In summary:

Statue
of Dan. 2
===
Sea Beast
of Rev. 13

Based on the above equivalence... there is more! Notice the similar relationship between the statues of Daniel 2 & 3 and the beasts (from the sea and abyss) of Revelation 13 & 17.

"This image’s head was of fine gold, his breast and his arms of silver, his belly and his thighs of brass, His legs of iron, his feet part of iron and part of clay." Daniel 2:32,33

"Nebuchadnezzar the king made an image of gold, whose height was threescore cubits, and the breadth thereof six cubits: he set it up in the plain of Dura, in the province of Babylon." Daniel 3:1

"And I stood upon the sand of the sea, and saw a beast rise up out of the sea, having seven heads and ten horns, and upon his horns ten crowns, and upon his heads the name of blasphemy." Revelation 13:1

"So he carried me away in the spirit into the wilderness: and I saw a woman sit upon a scarlet coloured beast, full of names of blasphemy, having seven heads and ten horns." Revelation 17:3

Placing this information into a visual format... First, the statues of Daniel 2 & 3...

Statue of Daniel 2
fine gold head
silver breast & arms
brass belly & thighs
iron legs
iron & clay feet

Statue of Daniel 3
gold head
gold breast & arms
gold belly & thighs
gold legs
gold feet
"image of gold"

Next, the beasts (from the sea and abyss) of Revelation 13 & 17...

Sea Beast of Revelation 13
name of blasphemy on heads
body
feet
etc.
etc.

Abyss Beast of Revelation 17
name of blasphemy on heads
name of blasphemy on body
name of blasphemy on feet
name of blasphemy on etc.
name of blasphemy on etc.
"full of names of blasphemy"

Now, notice the similar relationship between the statues of Daniel 2 & 3 and the beasts (from the sea and land) of Revelation 13.

"This image’s head was of fine gold, his breast and his arms of silver, his belly and his thighs of brass, His legs of iron, his feet part of iron and part of clay." Daniel 2:32,33

"Nebuchadnezzar the king made an image of gold, whose height was threescore cubits, and the breadth thereof six cubits: he set it up in the plain of Dura, in the province of Babylon." "Then an herald cried aloud, To you it is commanded, O people, nations, and languages, That at what time ye hear the sound of the cornet, flute, harp, sackbut, psaltery, dulcimer, and all kinds of musick, ye fall down and worship the golden image that Nebuchadnezzar the king hath set up: And whoso falleth not down and worshippeth shall the same hour be cast into the midst of a burning fiery furnace." Daniel 3:1,4-6

"And I stood upon the sand of the sea, and saw a beast rise up out of the sea, having seven heads and ten horns, and upon his horns ten crowns, and upon his heads the name of blasphemy." Revelation 13:1

"And I beheld another beast coming up out of the earth; and he had two horns like a lamb, and he spake as a dragon." "And he ... deceiveth ... saying to them that dwell on the earth, that they should make an image to the beast, which had the wound by a sword, and did live. And he had power to give life unto the image of the beast, that the image of the beast should both speak, and cause that as many as would not worship the image of the beast should be killed." "Here is wisdom. Let him that hath understanding count the number of the beast: for it is the number of a man; and his number is Six hundred threescore and six." Revelation 17:11,13-15,18

Placing this information into a visual format... First, the statues of Daniel 2 & 3...

Statue of Daniel 2

Next, the beasts (from the sea and land) of Revelation 13...

Sea Beast of Rev. 13

The land

Land Beast of Revelation 13

Combining the above information.

Daniel

Revelation
Step 1:
statue
of
Dan. 2

===
sea beast
of
Rev. 13
["And I saw one of his heads as it were wounded to death; and his deadly wound was healed..." Revelation 13:3]
Step 2:
statue
of
Dan. 3

===
land/image
beast of
Rev. 13

+
abyss beast
of
Rev. 17

In short, then, Daniel 2 & 3 tell us that, as the statue of Daniel 3 succeeds the statue of Daniel 2, so the land/image beast of Revelation 13 and the abyss beast of Revelation 17 succeed the sea beast of Revelation 13 after it receives a deadly wound. In other words, the land/image beast and abyss beast are the replacements for the now-dead sea beast. In fact, the abyss beast is the resurrected (the deadly wound healed)/transformed sea beast. (For further understanding see the study on the "Life of Jezebel.")
